Dear Friends:
The Wilmington Believes in Miracles campaign has been a resounding success to date – over $1 million raised for the baseball field andplayground, dozens of volunteers engaged, and an outpouring of generosity by individuals, families and companies.
However, the campaign is not over. We still need an additional $200,000 to finish the field, parking lot, walkways and to acquire equipment.
You can help this final effort by purchasing a brick which will become part of “The Walk of Champions,” the entryway to the field. bricks can be imprinted to memorialize a family member, caregiver, coach or friend. They will be a lasting gift, offering recognition for years to come, and serve notice to all who visit that the citizens of our communities really made a difference.
ACCESS and MLW are also EXCITED to offer the chance to leave your mark on this project. Please click the “Buy A Brick” button to learn more about the opportunity and to order yours TODAY! This offer is available until supplies last. Honor a friend, family member, co-worker, or your company with this customized gift.
The entire facility continues to take shape. Want more updates like this one? Subscribe to our NEW text message alerts. Send MLW to 919-648-0580. It’s free!

Dear Friends,
Many children and young adults with disabilities cannot participate in organized team sports such as baseball due to a lack of accessible and safe facilities. The Wilmington Believes in Miracles campaign, with your help, is going to change that situation.
With nearly one in five persons in New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus and Pender counties having some type of disability, the time to act is now. A space is needed that is completely flat with no obstacles for those in wheelchairs and walkers so they may be active in sports and other activities.
The Miracle Field and playground will offer a dedicated space to play baseball and enjoy the outdoors. Located at Olsen Park, off Murrayville Road, the Miracle Field will promote physical activity, camaraderie, a sense of teamwork, and fun for all – team members, volunteers, family and spectators.
Our goal is to raise $1.2 million to fund construction of the specialized baseball field and playground. Please take a few moments to review the brochure to learn of the success of nearly 240 Miracle Fields across the country and the benefits for our area. I urge you to join with me and other campaign leaders in supporting this endeavor.
Sincerely yours,
Peter Hexter – General Chair
